CyberAgra provides enterprise Intranet/Internet solutions for agriculture consisting of integrated software to share a common data base and exchange information between different modules. The software can be used by integrated companies to keep close track of the entire production cycle from grandparent stock to broilers or by individual operations such as breeder farms, broiler farms, hatcheries or by feed mills to schedule feed deliveries. The system also includes a modeling and planning module to analyze and plan flock schedules and egg production.

This software is designed to be used with a minimum setup but has the flexibility to be customized. Several standard reports are included and a report generator can be used to create custom reports. The data from the data base can be exported to HTML, Adobe ® , Microsoft Word ® or Excel ® for creation of custom reports, analysis and graphics. New highly-scalable Web/Intranet versions of our broiler, breeder, hatchery, layer, and swine data management systems increase performance, reliability and security. At the same time, CyberAgra's redundant server applications are more cost-effective, dependable, and easier to deploy.

We also provide interfaces to all major ERP and accounting systems, and even proprietary eCommerce software, pipelining credit card transactions to your bank.

New and improved products are the result of knowing your needs. Our ongoing relationship with you allows us to assess your needs and pass the information to our programmers, who convert your ideas into the industry's newest technology. We are committed to preparing you for the competitive challenges of tomorrow.

The system runs from any kind of computer (Windows ® , Apple ® , Unix ® ) at the company's Intranet or Internet with no more than a browser. The system uses Activex Data Objects (ADO) for database connectivity. This "thin" model was specially designed to connect thousands of simultaneous users at  speeds ranging from 100-10 Mb/s LAN to any regular modem speed. Data is optionally entered from the field with cellular devices and does not need to be transferred between remote locations and the corporate database, thus eliminating the centralization problem.

The operating system, web server, and databases are all standard Microsoft products. The database has a self-tuning profiler tool to optimize performance, as well as an automatic backup scheduling system.

Dynamic reports can be generated at your office or while traveling, anytime you wish. Cloned redundant multiprocessor servers ensure mission critical applications are always online, even in the event of a sudden hardware crash. The system is secured via Internet transaction standards of SSL encryption.

Our local onsite network and server configuration expertise allows for a complete standalone setup with client control of data, hardware and software. However, new software versions are easily obtained and applied to one or two servers, thereby effectively upgrading hundreds of internal users simultaneously.

The Input-Output Process

All system input can be conveniently entered offline in Excel templates (Figure 1) which increases data entry efficiency. This method allows for better user control of the environment including customized headings, colors, zooming, copy-paste, and for data manipulation through formulas and macros.

Standard text templates also provide an entry point  for a variety of external interfaces such as ERP or company accounting systems, feedmill batching systems, processing plant software, and even legacy data stored in other office formats.

Data files are uploaded to the company's centralized server at any time. The uploading application analyzes the input to validate the values before parsing them to the correct fields in the database. The validation process is done for each individual field and notification is sent back to the user in case of rejection. This is an intelligent process that not only validates the input but also points the user back to a possible solution using inline comments and pop-up windows.

Data Management Modules

Breeder and Pullet Modules : These applications track performance and cost data of pullet, grandparent and parent breeder flocks. All breeds are supported including broilers, layers, turkeys, and ducks. The main components of the data are farm, house, flock and daily and weekly transactions. The objective of these modules is real-time monitoring of all production activities. Irregular transactions are  stored with their original dates and values and further analysis is conducted by compilation of weekly and monthly periods, as well as by grouping and filtering information of multiple fields.

Flock Data:

· Females and males  housed, mortality, eliminated and current inventory.

· Body weight, CV, and uniformity.

· Weekly hen-days and cumulative hen-days.

· Weekly and cumulative total eggs produced.

· Non-hatching eggs (i.e. broken, culled, irregulars, floor, and nest eggs).

· Hatching eggs produced.

· Eggs set and number of chicks hatched (from the hatchery module).

· Weekly and cumulative feed consumed and type of feed.

· Feed nutritional data (from Formulation system).

· Vaccination schedules and antibody ELISA titers of various infectious diseases.

Cost Data:

· Chick, feed, medication.

· Flock / Farm related direct cost.

· Pullet amortization cost.

· Other indirect costs can be assigned by the user (or accounting system) or can be prorated by our cost distribution application.

· Flock and farm related direct cost can be broken up into components set by the user.

Production indices :

· % Mortality female and male.

· Peak production % and age.

· % hen-day egg production.

· % hen-housed egg production.

· % hatching eggs.

· % reclassified eggs (at hatchery).

· Cumulative eggs (total & hatching) on hen-day basis.

· Cumulative eggs (total & hatching) on hen-housed basis.

· Chicks hatched on hen-day basis.

· Chicks hatched on hen-housed basis.

· % Chicks hatched.

· Feed consumption per day

· Feed conversion per hatching egg

· Feed consumption per chick

· % Occupation

· Total cost per hatching egg

Hatchery Module : This module maintains hatchability by flock and chick deliveries to farms. Hatchery overall performance, costs, as well as individual machine performance, are also tracked. The main components of the data are eggs received, eggs classified, eggs transferred, eggs set, chicks hatched, and chicks delivered.

Hatchery Data:

· Hatching equipment inventory and capacity.

· Delivered eggs.

· Reclassified eggs.

· Eggs set, sold, sent to other hatcheries.

· Quality control data (i.e. fertility, embryo mortality, exploded).

· Inventory of hatch eggs.

· Hatching results (infertile, no hatch and culled).

· Chicks delivered and farm conditions.

· Temperature and humidity data.

Cost Data:

· Egg cost.

· Vaccination cost.

· Packaging and delivery cost.

· Cost of culled eggs.

· Fixed costs.

· Other indirect cost.

Production Indices :

· % Infertile eggs.

Data Management Modules continued...

Feed Mill Module:     Keeps feed mill accounting, ingredient and feed production inventories.  Other features include order entry, low inventory alerts and a complete delivery schedule from placement to kill date which is prepared for each house. Schedules take into consideration several factors, for example bin capacity, delivery capacity, birds placed, bird mortality, expected feed consumption, etc. The schedules are dynamically adjusted each time an actual delivery is made, mortality posted or physical feed inventory updated by any of the integrated modules.

Processing Module : This application analyzes individual products and maximizes profits of the combined product mix. It tracks volumes and cost of production including chick cost, grow-out cost, live haul cost, processing, and marketing costs. Margins are calculated on processed and second processing products.

Product categories include fresh, frozen, and overwrap such as whole birds, eviscerated, cut-up, front halves, breasts, boneless breasts, leg quarters, legs, boneless dark meat, wings, necks and backs, livers, hearts & gizzards, and others.

Analysis is also categorized by packaging form such as ice, CO2, CVP,  rendering, and by market type, such as bulk, retail, food service, overwrap, and others.

Planning Module : This module is used to forecast hatching eggs and broiler chicks and to evaluate breeder schedules to meet broiler chick needs.   Modeling can also be used to plan future capacities to meet company goals as well as to determine kill schedules and broiler and breeder placement schedules from  live bird demand. Kill schedules are automatically corrected by body weight deviations from standards for the flock, taking into account breed and producer factors. Projected kill date at required weight is calculated for all houses (Figure 9). Limiting Capacity Method : Chicks required are determined based on the maximum capacity of broiler farms, processing plant and hatcheries. Broiler Requirement Target Method : Chicks required are determined based on the monthly broiler requirements. The shortage/surplus figure is determined by comparing chicks produced with chicks required for the associated month.

Benchmarking Module : Compares company's results versus worldwide and regional averages. Participation in  benchmarking programs is optional and provides cost and performance comparisons of companies in the same industry while at the same time protecting confidentiality of data.
